I'll Take Two Please

Advertising has me baffled again.
Kit Kat are running a campaign focusing on the ‘calorifics’ of the product.
More or less saying that a two finger Kit Kat can be used as part of your diet because it’s not THAT fattening.
Who have they got as the central character in this?
Father ‘fat bastard’ Christmas!
He has found the last chimney a bit tight.
Can anyone else see the flaw in their thinking?
I guarantee you that fucker won’t have lost an ounce by the time we see him next year.
Why choose a character who is universally renowned for being rotund?

I think this should be cleared up concerning the adoption row.
You would expect that all adoption agencies would put a child with a family or couple that are good for the child.
The same with gay couples, you only put a child with them if it will be in the best interest of that kid.
The Catholic agencies aren’t being FORCED to place children with gays.
Just that they are not just dismissed without a word because they are gay. That is the bit that’s against the law.
What happens to those teenagers who are chucked out of home when they come out?
I suppose they are placed with ‘straight’ couples, who if Catholic, will tell this child it is a sin to be who they are.
Wouldn’t a better role model be a gay couple, in a long term, loving relationship?
The argument then becomes something about studies showing that kids brought up with gays are more likely to have homosexual relationships. So What?
What does that really prove? That these kids were raised with the idea that love can go beyond gender?
Oooh, how fucking wicked is that? Being brought up thinking about love.
Damn those gays to hell!
They make it sound like a couple can walk in off the streets and say,
‘We’re gay, we’d like a kid, please’,
And they have GOT to hand one over.
Of course not. Get a fucking grip.

Uhm, the most credible studies show that while children raised by gay parents may be more likely to have a homosexual experience, they are no more likely than any other kids to identify themselves as homosexual as adults. I think the study you're referring to probably confounded being gay with, well, a little experimentation.

Even the latter is suspect, as since the days of Kinsey, we know the number of self-described heterosexuals who have had at least one homosexual sexual encounter post-puberty is surprisingly high. This has been more true for men than women, and it's likely that whatever statistics you're referring to have more to do with girls being a little less sexually repressed, when raised by a gay couple, rather than any actual increase in "gayness."

You know - lies, damn lies and all that.

FWIW: the children raised by lesbian couples appear to be at least as well-adjusted as those raised by heterosexual couples. Not to bash men, or anything, but stories of evil abusive fathers and stepfathers certainly outnumber those of evil abusive mothers and stepmothers (not that there aren't any, or anything - just a numbers thing).

I think it's probably safe to say that the riskier gay couples are less likely to be interested in child-rearing than the riskier hetero couples anyway.

You wonder about the priorities of people, who'd be fine placing a child with a marginal hetero couple, but balk at placing with an ideal gay couple. Like, risk factors for family violence, etc. are more acceptable than the possibility of a child witnessing homosexual affection? Sort of like the US mentality: nudity, sex and most profanity is right out, so far as the media is concerned, but sadistic, graphic violence is just dandy.

It's an odd set of priorities, though certainly a venerable one (the inquisition comes to mind). You'd think we'd have come a little farther.

I'm confused now. Are you saying that eating kit-kats make you gay? Cos, I had a Toblerone on the way home from the shops and it deffo made me a little happier - apart from the fact that chocolate here is sweeter than in Britain, so that's a tad ick - anyway when I turned the TV on, that ad with Mariska Hargitay all back-lit and telling us to drink milk because it's good for us was on and I have to admit, I did have a slight, 'mmm...she is fine, I can see what my chum sees in her....' and I don't have any Pumas so maybe.....

tk... That's why it's got to be 'out', no matter what the consequences.
Familiarity breeds contempt.... and all that.

Schnee.. I have no idea as to the 'Gay Serum' content of Kit Kats.
Toblerone is the confectionary equivalent of Metrosexual.
Do you feel a yen for Pumas?

Na...I think that woman was mixing up 'straight' with 'chav'.

That would be that child we both know, whose name sounds like that of a Chinese prostitute!

hahahaha :))

However, getting back to the serious point of this before I trot off downtown to find out about how evil Walmart really are, it worries me that the Church of England has now gotten into the ring. Not wanting to offend anyone's religious sensibilities, but it's not unexpected from the Catholic Church, not acceptable, but not unexpected. I would however, have hoped for more from the C of E and especially since it is the Established Church of Britain and therefore has some status in the Law.

I do however still live in hope that the government will stand firm, they have after all, already passed the legislation, what they are fighting about here is some rather rough fine-tuning.

"You are what you eat", so eat two slim fingers of chocolate then you become two slim fingers of ... axiomatic!

"Love is Love", unless you're catholic, then it becomes cannibalistic exultation ending in self-immolation on a cross. A tough bill, so let St. Paul write the entire New Testament to tell us what Love really is ...

Who turns to this shower for spiritual guidance any longer? They are exemplary in only one department: How to make money by rape, pillage and plunder, and then how to cover your ass once you're done. As for family values ... hyenas at feeding time exhibit more!

Schnee... You kind of want to hold your hand up and and say,
'Proddies! No! Stay out of it, it's not your fight and it won't end well'.

lentenstuffe... I see your thinking on the Catholic Church is as liberal and easy going as mine!
Hehehehehe.
